Syfy’s The Magicians made us both cheer for joy but also weep from sadness in this week’s episode. Margo and Eliot make a deal with the Fairy Queen, Kady gets out of the mental hospital, and Hedge Witch Buffy saves Alice from making a terrible mistake. ‘Poached Eggs’ was written by Elle Lipson, and directed by Joshua Butler.
Visible | In Fillory, Margo (Summer Bishil) and Eliot (Hale Appleman) make a deal with the Fairy Queen (Candis Cayne). Actually, she’s making a deal with all the people of Fillory; therefore, they can all see her.
Fray (Madeleine Arthur) reveals the truth about who she really is, not the daughter of Eliot and Fen (Brittany Curran), but just some other random human raised by the fairies. It’s revealed that their real daughter actually died during childbirth, and give Brittany Curran all the awards for her heart-wrenching performance!
After Eliot and Margo make the deal with the Fairy Queen, she disappears and leaves Fillory’s High King and High Queen to be dragged off by their angry subjects.

Punchy Kady is the Best Kady | On Earth, Penny (Arjun Gupta) fills Quentin (Jason Ralph) and Penny (Felicia Day) in on his situation and how he can get to the Underworld–by becoming a book–but they run into a problem when they realize they need Harriet (Marlee Matlin). The only one of them Harriet might work with is Kady (Jade Tailor), so it’s off to the mental hospital to bust her out! But of course things don’t go over too smoothly, so Kady has to get punchy with some of the guards in order to bust out! She meets with Harriet, who reluctantly agrees to help, but Kady and her friends owe her big time for this!
Take Your Power Back | Remember the end of the last episode, when Alice was having a seizure and no one was around? Well, she’s okay for now, but her body is rejecting Julia’s (Stella Maeve) magic. Alice is desperate to keep the magic, and even turns to a vampire for help. Luckily her new pal Julia is there to rescue her from making a terrible decision. Julia has snorted some magical essence, giving her some magic, but it’s visibly different from the magic she’s used to. No matter, Alice is pissed Julia stopped her and hits her with a powerful blast of magic, knocking Hedge Witch Buffy out. Once Julia regains consciousness Alice reveals that she has successfully transferred the magic back to her.
What’s going to happen to Eliot and Margo?!?!? And poor Fen! But at least Kady is back and rejoined the gang! What do you think The Magicians has in store for next week?
