Loki‘s second episode, “Breaking Brad,” delivers a long anticipated reunion, lots of action, tension and McDonalds cross promotion. It really has it all! This week, Loki and Mobius team up to track down someone who knows where Sylvie is, while OB faces a roadblock to fixing the timeline.
It’s a Wonderful Life | Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Mobius (Owen Wilson) arrive in London circa 1977 to track down Hunter X-5 after his tracker went dark after he went after Sylvie. As it turns out, X-5 is undercover as a movie star named Brad Wolfe (Rafael Casal) and is rolling up to his latest movie premiere in style. Loki and Mobius confront him and ask where Sylvie is, but Brad runs for it until Loki snatches his Tempad and captures him with the help of well cast illusions. They lock up Brad in the TVA HQ and try to uncover the new tech he added to his Tempad, while Hunter B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku) and Casey (Eugene Cordero) figure out that Renslayer’s last transmission came from Miss Minutes, reminding Loki that Miss Minutes and Renslayer are both in league with Kang.
Loki, Mobius and B-15 interrogate Brad, who naturally refuses to talk, but taunts Loki and tells him that he will always be the villain and that he caused his mother’s death in Thor: The Dark World. Loki doesn’t snap, but surprisingly, Mobius does when Brad taunts him as well and gets a punch from Mobius. Loki tries to calm Mobius down and asks if he wants to know what life he could’ve lead had he not been taken by the TVA, but Mobius says he doesn’t want to know because he’s happy here.

I’m the Bad Guy | While OB (Ke Huy Quan) tries to deploy a device to the timeline, but gets locked out of the system, Mobius theorizes that Brad knows where Sylvie is and hasn’t turned her in. Loki and Mobius go back to talk to Brad, but this time they bring a contraption with them. Loki asks Mobius to go get the controller for the machine, but Loki locks him out of the room and messes around with the controller, which he had in his pocket, and uses the machine to create a cage around Brad and shrink it, trying to crush him. Brad finally confesses that he knows where Sylvie is and Loki and Mobius demand that he show them.
You Want Fries With That? | B-15 and Casey go to see OB and he tells them that he’s been locked out of the system and that only two options can get them back in- Kang and Miss Minutes. Brad takes them to the McDonalds in 1982, where sure enough, Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) is there. After an awkward talk between her and Loki, Brad reveals to them that one of the TVA judges sent to track down Sylvie is planning on wiping out every branched timeline, including the one they’re in. They take Brad back to the TVA and Loki, Sylvie and Mobius then team up to fight the Judge (Kate Dickie) and her men, but are unable to stop them from annihilating numerous timelines, much to B-15’s horror. Sylvie tells Loki that the TVA is the problem and that she’s never going back before she scrams back to the McDonalds, just as Casey finds out where Renslayer is on the timeline.
