This week’s episode of Loki lets viewers spend a little more time with our antihero and the exciting new addition to the show in a smaller episode with a cool ending. Let’s dive into “Lamentis!”

Stranded In Space | The Variant (Sophia Di Martino) teleports to the TVA HQ and tries to get into the Timekeepers’ office using information she gained from Hunter C-20 (Sasha Lane). Loki (Tom Hiddleston) is right on her tail and fights with her, gaining control over her teleport pad and whisking them away to a planet called Lamentis-1 in the year 2077- which is about to be annihilated by a collapsing planet. To make matters worse, the teleport pad is out of power, so they’re stuck there.

Unlikely Alliance | Left with little options, Loki proposes to the Variant, whom she insists on being called Sylvie, that they work together to find something to recharge the pad with. Sylvie knows that the rich and wealthy are planning to evacuate in a ship called the Ark and the two of them slip onto a train heading that way. On the way, the two chat about Loki’s magic, which he says his adopted mother taught him.

Security comes running in and a fight breaks out, during which Loki gets thrown out the window and Sylvie dives after him to get the pad. Unfortunately, the pad shattered when Loki hit the ground, leaving the pair righteously screwed. Loki says that if they get onboard the Ark, they might have a chance and on the way to the landing pad, Sylvie reveals that Hunter C-20 had a life on Earth decades before she joined the TVA. Loki then realizes that Mobius’s story about the TVA agents coming with the organization is not accurate and they have no idea that they were recruited.

As Loki and Sylvie race to the Ark and dispatch tons of guards en route in a long take sequence, they are inches away from the gate when the collapsing planet obliterates the ship, leaving them SOL. Sylvie simply walks away, while Loki just stares at the rubble.

Loki is now streaming on Disney+.
