“Legion” Recap: If I Could Turn Back Time

“Chapter 17” of “Legion” presents the storyline in a triptych fashion- Three storylines involving three different sets of characters. Melanie communicates with Oliver across a long distance, Lenny returns to her old life, and Cary and Kerry embark on a mission from David.

Trips Around the Sun | The first angle of character focus this week was on Melanie, who so far, has been downgraded to the sidelines this season. As it turns out, she’s been psychically communicating with Oliver this whole time and secretly giving him and Farouk information about David’s actions. To that end, she knocks out Clark before he can go help David, but she asks Oliver why things always have to end in violence.

Letting Loose | Next up is Lenny, who has escaped Division 3 and is holed up in a drug house, doing unhealthy amounts of God-knows-what and having sex with a tripped out girl who refers to her as “Your Majesty.” Just to keep things interesting, Amy keeps appearing to Lenny and asks her if she’s a good person. She also floats the possibility that Lenny is in love with David. Hm.

Get Real | Finally, Cary and Kerry receive their mental instructions from David and steal a secret weapon from Division 3’s vault- which they also leave unlocked! Really bad idea! They hijack a car and deliver it to a building with a neon octopus sign, which just so happens to be where Lenny is holed up. Lenny also got instructions from David to take the car and the weapon, which she does and then the car teleports to the desert where Oliver is hunting for Farouk’s body.

“Legion” airs Tuesdays on FX.
