With Lenny’s unexpected return in last week’s episode of “Legion,” “Chapter 13” let Aubrey Plaza go full unhinged and it made a great episode in the process that, par for the cause of season 2, raised a lot of questions as well as answers.
The Beautiful Idea | Lenny is cooped up in a cool gravity altering interrogation room, being asked basic questions by Clark about who she is and what she remembers. She still remembers David and dying in the wall in season 1, as well as details of her past. (The episode opens with a very cool twist on the recap by showing Lenny’s death and saying “Apparently on Legion.”)

Meanwhile, Farouk and Oliver are in the desert armed with a mysterious gun-like device stolen from Division 3 headquarters. Oliver seems to remember Melanie and promises that he will kill Farouk to his face. He also teases Farouk’s weakness by asking him what one plus one equals- and the answer isn’t two. Interesting.
What is the Present | Ptonomy tries to read Lenny’s memories, but ends up trying to strangle her before he abruptly leaves. He does see Fukuyama’s true face, which looks like some horrific bird creature, though. David himself arrives in the interrogation room and notices that Lenny now has blue eyes. Lenny insists that she was a victim of Farouk’s twisted plan and that she has no idea why she’s here or how she came back. How maddeningly inconvenient!
Conspiracy | In an otherwise uneventful episode, it’s the final minutes that really punch you in the gut. Farouk and Oliver track a mysterious donut truck in the desert to a guarded house that, get this, is owned by Amy Haller and her husband. Oliver kills the husband and immobilizes Amy before using the stolen gun with DNA from Lenny’s body to somehow reshape her body into Lenny’s, presumably killing Amy in the process. David reads Lenny’s mind to see this and is horrified and promises Farouk that he will come for him.
