This week’s Legacies takes a drastic leap upward in quality after a few lackluster episodes. This one, “All’s Well That Ends Well,” has Hope trying to find out Cleo’s role in the attacking monsters, while Josie finally summons the courage to ask out Finch. MG and Ethan try to make a difference, while Lizzie discovers a secret about someone.
Take the Bait | MG (Quincy Fouse) and Ethan (Leo Howard) spend the night crashing a convenience store robbery and compelling the robbers to turn themselves in. The next morning, Lizzie (Jenny Boyd) stops by Mystic Falls High to help Josie (Kaylee Bryant) win over Finch (Courtney Bandeko) by arranging a rom com meet cute, but tells Josie that without her help, she won’t get the girl.
Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) wakes up in an unnaturally good mood and decides to celebrate by taking Cleo (Omono Okojie) on a picnic, which turns out to be a test of her theory that the monsters are after Cleo. Right on cue, a banshee arrives and Hope and Cleo trap it.
The Conduit | Alaric (Matthew Davis) reads that banshees are harbingers of death, while Jed (Ben Levin) of all people has the idea to cast a spell to funnel the banshee’s voice into him while he takes a truth weed so they can get answers. Through this method, the banshee confirms that Malivore is after Cleo for reasons unknown and also says that if she stays at the school, Landon (Aria Shahghasemi) will die. After hearing this, Cleo storms off campus, but Hope asks the banshee if Landon is safe now and she says that Cleo will also die.
At Mystic High, Josie finally summons the nerve to ask out Finch, but she says that she has plans and walks away. Suspecting that she’s seeing someone, Josie asks Lizzie to find out using magical means. That night, Lizzie follows Finch and finds her turning into a werewolf at the school, just as MG hears what’s going on and rescues her from getting mauled by wolf-Finch.
The Power of Grief | Before turning into a wolf, Jed tells Alaric what the banshee’s real name is and Alaric looks her up and finds out her family history. He tells the banshee that her son lived for several years and had grandchildren named after her and the banshee leaves the woman’s body, freeing her. The woman then tells Alaric that she knows why Malivore wants Cleo, just as Cleo is nearly captured by a skull masked figure who gets chased off by Hope as a wolf, who then rescues Cleo.
Lizzie goes to Josie and troublingly lies to her and tells her that Finch is seeing somebody else, which will surely backfire when Josie finds out the truth! Alaric finds out from the woman that Cleo is a muse- a witch who can bring inspiration to others and he thinks Malivore wants her to inspire him to escape from the prison world. In the middle of the night, Skull Faced Guy, which he will be called until further notice, breaks into Hope and Landon snuggling and takes samples of each of their hair…
