Valentine’s Day may only be two weeks away, but that’s not stopping “Legacies'” latest, “What Cupid Problem?” from celebrating the season of love. As Hope enlists MG to save the Saltzmans from Alyssa’s trap, a monster that causes people to fall in love wreaks havoc on Mystic Falls. Landon’s fight to prove himself to Hope reaches new heights, literally.
Come and Get Your Love | Starting things off with the Necromancer and poor Chad, they’re horrified to learn that the hourglass is gone and strike a deal with the latest Malivore monster- Cupid! He shoots arrows of love into the citizens of Mystic Falls, including Dorian and Emma, before Landon and Hope capture him and clip his wings off so he can’t escape. Hope takes one of Cupid’s arrows to use on the imprisoned Alyssa to try to get her to spill the location of the Ascendant that is holding the Saltzmans. This backfires drastically when Alyssa reveals that she’s been crushing on MG since day one.

The Art of Seduction | Hope coerces MG to go on a date with Alyssa to try to seduce the Ascendant’s location out of her, but he admits that he only has eyes for Kaleb’s sister, Kim, who’s working as Dorian’s librarian. Alyssa takes this rather well- by destroying the Ascendant and trying to chop Kim’s head off with an axe. Fortunately, Kaleb and MG knock her out and lock her back up, but Kim leaves the school out of fear.
Oh My Gods | Landon assembles the Super Squad, albeit an amended version that includes Wade and little Pedro, to track down Cupid and they find him eating a guy’s heart in a bar. Hope arrives and hammers Cupid with his own arrows, seemingly killing him, but he shows up at the school and fires an arrow into Hope’s chest that will kill her. Landon figures out that it’s not Cupid, but one of his evil brothers, and convinces the monster to tear out and eat his heart, which destroys the Cupid lookalike and undoes his magic on Hope and the others he affected.
Landon resurrects and reveals that he consumed every possible weakness for Cupid’s brothers to kill the monster, which proves himself in Hope’s eyes as they kiss and Landon somehow levitates off the ground with Hope in his arms. Dorian and Emma arrive, having gotten hitched under the Cupid’s sway- awkward!- to find that someone has robbed the school’s vault. Turns out, it was the Necromancer and Chad, who have found a golden arrow that can’t mean anything good.
