“Legacies” goes back to the 80s in a fun time of an episode in “Screw Endgame,” in which Hope and Lizzie are sent into a labyrinth resembling Mystic Falls circa the 1980s. Landon and Josie’s relationship hits an awkward level, while MG enlists Kaleb to help uncover Sebastian’s secrets.
Dance Magic Dance | Hope is literally camped out by the Malivore hole where the monsters are coming from, when Lizzie arrives, having remembered her due to Josie’s spell that sucked the black magic out of her mind. Then, an 80s clad woman arrives from the hole and transports the girls to 1980s Mystic Falls, where every time they die, they reset in the same spot, a-la “Happy Death Day.” The woman tells them that she’s the keeper of the labyrinth where a minotaur resides and that unless one of them takes her place, both of them will be trapped there forever.

Back at the school, everyone prepares for the decade dance, but MG convinces Kaleb to find out more about Sebastian. They find his dead body in a coffin in the basement and Sebastian tells MG that he can only appear to susceptible minds. Kaleb feeds Sebastian blood to get him to appear to him and Sebastian confesses that he was on a murder rampage back in his day, prompting Kaleb to lock up Sebastian’s body.
Dance Hall Days | In the labyrinth, Hope immediately says that she’ll take the place of the labyrinth’s keeper, but Lizzie knocks her out and goes in her place, only to find out that whoever doesn’t take over the labyrinth is killed. Lizzie re-teams with Hope to slay the minotaur, freeing all three women from the labyrinth.
Hope and Lizzie arrive at the school dance to see Landon and Josie going up to the dorms to have sex. Despite Lizzie’s objections, Hope refuses once again to tell Landon the truth. But as Landon runs off to find a condom, Josie finds a journal in Landon’s handwriting with a love song written to Hope, which Josie keeps to herself, but tells Landon that she wants to wait to have sex.
MG sees Sebastian vanishing away from the school after Sebastian convinced poor Wade to help him escape. Alaric invites Vardemus for a drink and extends an olive branch, but says that he will come after him if he hurts his daughters. When Alaric leaves, Vardemus sees the Keeper of the labyrinth in the bar and takes off his ring- revealing himself as Clark, who kills the keeper!!! Betcha didn’t see that one coming!
