“Killer Camp” Episode ‘Don’t Lose Your Head’ Recap: Jump For Joy…Then Die
In the latest episode of The CW’s Killer Camp, a jealous third tries to demolish a triangle, a lot of balls (big and small) are grabbed, and a shocking moment during the immunity challenge leaves a campmate stunned. Here’s what went down in “Don’t Lose Your Head.”
The campers are still reeling after the death of Basil, but the possibility of love in the air offers up a nice distraction. SJ has made it no secret that he fancies tennis-athlete Jordan but is rightfully cautious just in case. “Maybe I’m being blinded by his beauty, but I feel like a bit on edge around him and I’m not sure how friendly to get in case he is the killer,” SJ says.
Meanwhile, Clyde blushes at the thought that he’s caught up in a love triangle with Lexxi and Valentina. Though because of the nature of the show, he’s smart about not getting too close. “When it comes to relationships, I’m keeping my options open,” he says. “I’m not going to get too attached because I mean they could die at any moment, right?”
In the cabin, Bella confronts Gabe about being a “douche” the night before at the campfire. It’s a heated confrontation that catches the attention of the other campers. The fratboy shows no remorse and explains to her that everything he’s done is because it’s a tactic and strategy for the game. Unhappy with his view on the situation, she calls on him to be the next victim. “If I am friends with the killer [expletive] kill him.”
In the episode’s cash game, “In Too Deep,” the innocents must dive into the lake and swim to one of three shipwrecks to collect as many bolas as they can. The farther away the shipwreck, the higher the value of the bolas. To bank the cash, they’ll need to land the bolas on a giant ladder. The cash value of the bolas still remaining under the boats will be added to the killer’s prize fund.

When each set of campers head towards the boats, they must both retrieve bolas from different boats. Valentina and Jaydah both set their aim for the yellow boat, which is against the rules and costs them precious time against the clock. Suspicious? Maura says it’s “absolutely killer behavior” to sabotage the game in that way. Valentina then fixes her fumble by heading toward the red boat, causing concern when she doesn’t resurface for a while.
Once everyone is out of the water, Camp Counselor Bobby announces that they have all collected bolas worth $2k. One by one, they throw their retrieved bolas at the ladder, but unfortunately, all of them didn’t latch on. “Everyone was doing great in the swimming part,” Gabe says, “but it didn’t even matter.” Because the campers failed part 2 of the challenge, the killer banks the entire $3500 bank from that challenge.
Later that day, Valentina brings up the love triangle to Clyde. After wishing him and Lexxi the best, he assures her that he and Lexxi are just friends, Valentina is no Plan B, and he has an attraction to her. During his confessional, however, he admits that it’s way too early (Day 2) to be involved with anyone and that he felt a bit pressured to assuage her feelings.
In the immunity challenge, “Grab ‘Em By the Balls,” the campers must travel across a slippery football field to retrieve blue balls and bring them back. But, there aren’t enough balls for everyone. Anyone without the giant blue balls at the end of each round will be eliminated and then be a blocker in the next. Victory goes to the camper with the last ball.
In the final round, Gabe tackles down Jordan, making way for his bro Clyde to collect the final ball. Once in possession of it, Clyde tosses it in the air over to Gabe declaring him the winner. He is awarded the immunity woggle and makes the surprising announcement that he wishes to share immunity with Bella. Stunned and speechless by his decision, she gives him a heartfelt hug. Immediately after, however, he reveals that he was just kidding and that he’d like to share immunity with Clyde. OUCH!!!
After the lot have some time to regroup after that wet and wild competition, Lindi asks Jordan if there’s anyone at the camp that he fancies, and shares that he has a secret admirer among the other campers. He does tell Lindi, Lexxi, and Jaydah that the guys are good-looking. “I’m not exactly sure who it is,” Jordan says in the confessional, “but I must say that SJ has been giving me some googly eyes.”
Due to the rainy weather, the traditional nightly campfire is out, but the campers are not safe from being killed off. In its place, “Bobby’s Special Slumber Party” complete with mugs of hot chocolate takes place indoors. The sense of dread is seen all over the campers’ faces, even the immune Gabe and Clyde. “We don’t really want to see anyone leave though, honestly,” Gabe says to Bobby. “We’ll they’re gonna leave,” Bobby replies. “And they’re gonna be killed.”
Camp Counselor Bobby announces that the two campmates chosen to go on an “unforgettable experience” at the camp trampoline club are Jordan and Valentina. The pair head into the woods and split up at a sign. One of them finds a giant trampoline in a clearing, takes off their shoes, and begins to bounce. Jumping up and down, defying gravity, laughing without a care in the world, this camper is unaware that Bruce is nearby.
The masked handyman walks into the glade, untangles a cord from the tree, and pulls it, causing a razor-sharp propeller fixed to a tree branch to begin spinning while descending closer to the frolicking camper. “But then… schwick!” Bobby shrieks. “Their luck went out.” Blood spurts out the campers neck like a mini volcano and bounces away into the forest. The weird thing, however, is that the headless body just kept on bouncing. “The Headless Hopper of Pleasant Woods.”
Valentina returns to the camp to a relieved few, including Clyde. But SJ is saddened that he lost a good friend and potential flame. Were you shocked by the killer’s latest victim? Let us know in the comments below!
On Our Radar This Week: SJ | Though he’s our favorite campmate this season, there’s one big reason why we have our eyes on him. Throughout the first two episodes, we’ve fallen in love with his hilarious reactions whenever he’s startled. We love his relationship with the girls and his crush on Jordan. He’s super likable and has great, long hair! Because we see SJ as a fan favorite, this could easily be a distraction from the fact that he could be the one enlisting Handyman Bruce to do his dirty work. But then why would SJ have Jordan killed off, you ask? To throw us off his trail into thinking he coulnd’t be the killer because he would never kill off Jordan. Did he really fancy the tennis player, or did he make us believe it was real so that no one would suspect him when Jordan got his killer exit?
Killer Camp airs Fridays at 8pm on The CW.
