Are David Anders & Rahul Kohli Safe from Being Killed Off of “iZombie”?

It’s pretty much a general rule of thumb that when you work on a series with high stakes, where no one is safe and anyone can die at any moment, it’s best not to get too comfortable and invest in any real estate near production.

“If you make it too safe then there’s never any jeopardy and you’re never worried for anybody,” says Executive Producer Diane Ruggiero-Wright.

Nonetheless, there are some who feel somewhat sure that they are not going anywhere. As far as The CW’s undead comedy iZombie is concerned, both Rahul Kohli (Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti) and David Anders (Blaine DeBeers) believe they’re staying put. And for viewers of the series, let’s hope that these fan favorites stick around for a while!

“I’m very fortunate that my character works the morgue because I can’t think of another way Liv can get brains without my character,” explains Kohli. “So I think just by that, I should be okay.

“And also my character has to do the obligatory, ‘Oh, you just had the alcoholic brain,’ so that the audience knows what she’s about to experience. So in that sense, I think I’m safe.”

One of last season’s biggest shocking moments was the death and departure of Bradley James’ Lowell Tracey. While the cast mourned his passing, David Anders, however, is happy that it wasn’t Blaine needing a body bag.

“I felt bad about killing him, but that’s what was always going to happen,” Anders says. “What were they going to do, kill me? Come on!”

Season 2 of iZombie premieres Tuesday, October 6, at 9pm on The CW.
