Marvel and Hulu’s latest collaboration has cast 12 (!) more actors as the villainous parents of the six lead characters on the series. Here’s the breakdown:
Ryan Sands (“The Wire”) and Angel Parker (“The Strain”) will play the parents of Rhenzy Feliz’s character, Alex Wilder. Sands will play Geoffrey Wilder, while Parker is his wife, Catherine.
Virginia Gardner’s character Karolina Dean’s parents will be played by Kip Pardue (“Ray Donovan”) and Annie Wersching (“24”) as Frank and Leslie Dean, respectively.
“Alias” star Kevin Weisman will play Gertrude Yorkes’s father Dale and his wife Stacey will be Brigid Brannagh of “True Colors.”
Tina Minoru will be played by Brittany Ishibashi (“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows”), while her husband Robert will be played by “Madam Secretary’s James Yaegashi.
Finally, James Marsters (“Angel”) will play Victor Stein and Ever Carradine (“Goliath”) will play Janet Stein.
Curiously, Linda Louise Duan, who played Tina Minoru in “Doctor Strange,” will not be reprising her role for the series.
“This cast is an abundance of riches,” Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage said in a statement. “We’re so excited to have assembled our Pride, though for the fate of humanity, we should be very concerned…”
In the comics, the above characters were leaders of an apocalyptic cult called the Pride, who made life hell for their children, The Runaways.
“Runaways,” which also stars Rhenzy Feliz, Lyrica Okano, Virginia Gardner, Allegra Acosta, Gregg Sulking and Ariela Barer, is set to shoot next Monday. The show was recently picked up for a full series by Hulu.
