Heads Will Roll in First Official “Scream” Trailer

For those who have been following the news of MTV’s highly anticipated TV adaptation of the hit horror franchise, Scream, you perfectly know the role that actress Bella Thorne tackles in the series.

The uninitiated will soon find out that Thorne has signed on to play a Casey-like role, originated by Drew Barrymore in the first film. As such, Thorne will be the first character whose death will be shown on screen, and in line with the movie, could be the opening scene with the death happening within the first five minutes.

In MTV’s incarnation, Bella Thorne’s character goes for a dip in a hot tub while waiting for her boyfriend, Tyler, to show up. After a cryptic text message from his cell — “Heads Up” — Tyler’s head, and just his head, lands in the hot tub just inches away from her.

Moments later her neck is slashed and she is left for dead in the pool waiting for her body to be found.

If this is just a small taste of the guts and gore we can expect to see from the show, then we’re sold! And all concerns we had about comedy director Jamie Travis (Faking It) helming the pilot were all washed away when we saw this trailer.

From the looks of it, not only are we going to get a whole bunch of chills and thrills, there will also be lots of juicy relationship drama! But who will survive long enough to be in one?

“Everyone has secrets. Everyone tells lies. And everyone is fair game.” Translation? No one is safe!

After a cyber-bullying incident results in a brutal murder, the shocking violence stirs up memories of a killing spree from the past that has haunted some, intrigued others and maybe just inspired a new killer. A group of teens – with two old friends struggling to reconnect at its heart – become lovers, enemies, suspects, targets and victims of a killer who’s out for blood.

Scream stars Willa Fitzgerald as “Emma,” Bex Taylor-Klaus as “Audrey,” Carlson Young as “Brooke,” Amadeus Serafini as “Kieran,” John Karna as “Noah,” Connor Weil as “Will,” Tracy Middendorf as “Maggie” and Jason Wiles as “Sheriff Hudson.”

Don’t miss the Scream series premiere June 30th on MTV.
