Freeform Announces “Siren” Season 2B Premiere Date

After the mermaids’ return to sea and the successful takedown of Klesco Gas & Oil’s off-shore drilling plans, Freeform’s Siren is taking a short hiatus.

The network on Wednesday revealed the return date of the sci-fi/fantasy series, which is set for Thursday, July 11.

A July return would give the show a great opportunity to appear at San Diego Comic-Con to preview the rest of the season and to hopefully announce a renewal for Season 3! A renewal for Vancouver-shot Siren would also mean production on the new season would also take place in the month of July.

Season 2B picks up with Ben and Maddie feeling uncertain about the mermaids’ future after the deadly consequences of the attack on the oil rig. With the mermaids returning to sea, Ben and Maddie are left feeling lost without Ryn. Once Helen learns she’s not the only one of her kind, she discovers there’s a dark side to her people’s past.

As Rena Owen (Helen) recently told OMFGTV in an exclusive interview about the latest episode, “Multiple people’s lives are left up in the air.” Xander (Ian Verdun) and Calvin (Curtis Lum) were aboard The North Star when it exploded. Additionally, Sarge (Hugo Ateo) appeared to be nearly decapitated.

Who survives the damaging spring finale? We’ll find out in the summer premiere!

Siren returns with all new episodes Thursday, July 11 at 8pm only on Freeform.
