After a handful of brief, mysterious promos teasing the series premiere of Freeform’s new series Dead of Summer, the network formerly known as ABC Family has begun releasing key art for the show!
On Thursday, the young-skewing network unveiled the first poster which gave future-fans much to buzz about. On the heels of that, they have released a second, very creepy, poster, which you can check out below.
The photo displays some of Camp Stillwater’s finest going for a jump in its eponymous lake. Back on land, however, someone — or something — awaits them, as evidenced by a dark, ominous shadow.
Here’s the question: Are they going for a fun dip in the water unbeknownst as to what’s behind them, or does the poster represent the campers running away from the supernatural/paranormal form on deck?
As we’ve already seen in the sexy, scary teaser for Dead of Summer, the water can be very deadly. Hopefully these group of campers make it out alive!
Set in the late 1980s, school is out for the summer, and a sun-drenched season of firsts beckons the counselors at Camp Stillwater, a seemingly idyllic Midwestern summer camp, including first loves, first kisses—and first kills. Stillwater’s dark, ancient mythology awakens, and what was supposed to be a summer of fun soon turns into one of unforgettable scares and evil at every turn.
Dead of Summer premieres Tuesday, June 28, at 9pm on Freeform.
