“Dead of Summer is about a group of teenagers who have decided to become counselors for the summer,” Lail says, “and they end up experiencing a lot of terror and supernatural happenings along with discovering their identity as they’re growing and their relationships with one another.”
She explains that aside from her character, the rest of the counselors are no strangers to the camp they are working to reopen.
“Most of the counselors were campers at Camp Stillwater themselves, which is why they’ve decided to come back because they loved it so much. My character, however, Amy, this is her first time at camp. It was a friend who recommended being a counselor to her, so she’s a bit on the edge of the group.”
In the series premiere of Dead of Summer, we’ll meet her friend and through flashbacks, watch their story and find out what baggage Amy brings with her to Stillwater.
Finally, Lail says that you will want to tune in and when you do, you’ll get hooked!
“I think people are going to want to watch Dead of Summer because it leaves you wanting more because there’s mystery,” she says” “There’s a lot of mystery. Every time I read an episode, I’m always like, ‘What?! What’s happening?!’ And then wondering how they’re going to recover from this or what’s going to happen next.”
