In Freeform’s latest outing of freshman series Dead of Summer, not only did we get to know more about Holyoke (aka Tall Man, played by Tony Todd), but the Joel-centric episode ended with one hell of a deadly ending!
If you thought the installment, titled “How to Survive in the Woods” was pretty intense, just you wait! Joel’s portrayer Eli Goree tells OMFGTV that the chills and thrills only escalate from here on out!

“It gets ratcheted up almost consistently through the entire season,” Goree tells us. “I was very impressed with the way they built each character and the way they always manage every week to come out with something that takes the whole story forward and also has a shock.”
Now heading into the final half of its inaugural season, Dead of Summer will start to get “a little darker.”
“When it first started off, people didn’t really know each other,” Goree explains. “We’re just getting to camp, there’s a lot of light thrills. There’s still some humor in it, but [the remainder of the season] gets a lot less humorous and a lot darker.”
We absolutely can’t wait!
