In tonight’s all-new episode of Dead of Summer, Amber Coney’s Cricket Diaz is the woman of the hour as the Freeform supernatural thriller delves deeper into her past with her back story.

OMFGTV got on the phone with the multi-talented actress, where she previewed what’s to come in tonight’s installment, titled “Mix Tape.”

“I’m just excited for people to see where I come from,” Coney tells us. “A lot of people are wondering why Cricket wrote ‘Slut’ on the wall, what’s going on with her, why is this warm, sunny person also having these weird behaviors and struggles.”

Some of what Cricket Diaz is hiding is that she is “really wanting to be tended to.”

Cricket will be “seeking validation and some type of attention,” which leads her into dangerous territory. “Things aren’t going my way. I’m going to get that somehow.”

In “Mix Tape,” she gets to the point where she’s “kind of desperate for something to happen that I want.”

Elsewhere in the episode, the mythology is explored even further.

“You really see how these inner demons are being manifested in reality somehow and that’s the most frightening thing that could possibly happen.”
