“The Fosters” Recap: Sorted
Things are really picking up for several characters in this week’s episode of The Fosters. Callie (Maia Mitchell) gets into some hot water with both Aaron (Elliot Fletcher) and AJ (Tom Williamson), Brandon (David Lambert) gets himself into a difficult situation, Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) is secretly doing roller derby, and Jesus (Noah Centineo) learns the toll his anger takes on others. ‘Too Fast, Too Furious’ was written by Cristian Martinez and directed by Tate Donovan, and here is what happened!
Callie Asks For Advice | Callie and Aaron are always getting interrupted at Callie’s house, so Aaron invites her over to his loft for some alone time. Callie assumes Aaron means he wants to have sex, so she visits with her old pal Cole (Tom Phelan) to get some advice on how to have sex with a trans man. But it turns out, not all guys like the same thing, so Callie’s plan backfires and leads her to tell Aaron about her conversation with Cole. Aaron gets upset about 2 things. The first being that Callie assumed he wanted to have sex that night, he really did just want to spend some time alone with her. The second thing he was upset about was that Callie asked Cole for advice when she should have just come to him.
Callie leaves Aaron’s and ends up, some time later, at AJ’s finally getting everything off her chest about their breakup so that she can finally more forward with Aaron.
And move forward with Aaron she does, when she goes back to his loft to apologize. She admits she also was not ready to have sex, so they agree to take things slow and, when the time comes, to really talk about what they like and don’t like in the bedroom.

Brandon the Babysitter | Things are really heating up for Brandon and Grace (Meg DeLacy), but take an interesting turn when Cortney (Denyse Tontz) asks B to babysit her son. Grace ends up helping out, not knowing Cortney is the mother, and we see a whole new side to Brandon as he gets playful with the kid. But Grace does eventually find out Cortney is the mother, and it makes her feel a bit weird, understandably. When Cortney comes to get her son, Brandon finds out they don’t have a place to live for a week and offers the back house since Gabe is out of town. Is letting his ex and her son stay in the back house really a good move, B?
Jammer Girl | Mariana begins secretly practicing with the derby girls, and after a few hard falls she really begins to get the hang of it. She’s so good, in fact, that Ximena (Lisseth Chavez) wants to make her a jammer, the only person that can score. Things are really looking up for Mariana, she’s even making some friends, but she has to be careful at home. She has one slip up with Lena (Sherri Saum) spotting a bruise, she doesn’t need anymore of those.
Can He Go Back to School? | Jesus gets word from his doctor that he has to keep taking anti-seizure medicine, but they can try to find one with different side effects. Jesus reaches out to Emma (Amanda Leighton) to fill her in on his checkup, and he can tell she’s still avoiding him, so he asks about it. She doesn’t give him the answers he’s looking for, so he meets her after school. She knows about his anger problems, and he tells her how he really feels about her getting the abortion. He wants to be with her, but she is unsure about their future at the moment.
Jesus attacks Brandon about telling Emma about his anger, and Brandon shoves Jesus. This prompts B to want to stay with his dad for a few days, but after a talk with his moms where Jesus learns he can only return to school with an aide, he apologizes to his brother and hugs him. All seems to be forgiven between them.
Looks like some of the Adams-Foster kids are finding their groove, while others are torn between different worlds. What do you think will happen next time on The Fosters?
