The Flash Recap: Arrowverse VS. Nazis

The CW premiered its annual Arrowverse crossover special with SupergirlArrow, Legends of Tomorrow and The Flash titled “Crisis on Earth-X”. Part three of the special has loads of drama and action that leaves the audience on their toes the entire episode.

Supergirl in Super Trouble | On Earth-1, Eobard Thawne (Tom Cavanagh) bathes Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) in a red sunlight to make her weak so he can cut her open and take her heart out. Up in the vents, Iris West (Candice Patton) and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) overhear his plans and try to figure out a way to stop him.

They head over to the pipeline to rescue Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh), Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes), Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and Dinah Drake (Julianna Harkavy) because they’re trapped in a metahuman prison that Cisco built.

When Iris and Felicity fail to disarm the doors and free the others, they send a message out to the rest of the heroes to see if they can help. With time running out, they decide to cut the power to S.T.A.R Labs while Eobard is trying to cut into Kara. Eobard starts searching around the facility which allows Iris and Felicity to save Kara and head for the exit. When they reach the elevator, Metallo comes out and blasts Kara across the room.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas | On Earth-X, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), Jax Jackson (Franz Drameh), Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh), Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) and Professor Stein (Victor Garber) are held captive in a concentration camp. They notice a pink triangle on a prisoners uniform. He reveals that it’s for loving the wrong person.

The Nazis gather the heroes and the prisoner and have them walk out towards a field. They decide to charge the Nazis but get zapped because they’re wearing an electric collar.  The Nazis have the heroes stand in a straight line. Once they get ready to execute them, Leonard Snart (Wentworth Miller) appears and starts shooting the Nazis.

Leonard helps them hide in a ditch and removes the prisoners collar. This allows the prisoner to fly up into the sky and blast the Nazis to help the group escape.

It is revealed that the prisoner is named Raymond “Ray” Terrill (Russell Tovey) and he is actually from Earth-1 (and he’s gay).

Leonard brings the heroes to a hideout where they learn that General Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan) is planning to destroy the gate they came through. They ask if they can go through the gate before he destroys it but there’s two problems, the Nazis have the gate and he doesn’t have time to wait for them.

Alex tries to talk Winn out of destroying the gate but he doesn’t listen because he needs to put his people first. Ray and Leonard decide to talk to him and he agrees to give them one hour to get back to Earth-1.

They decide to have Oliver impersonate his Nazi doppelganger and help them get into the Nazi lair and fight their way to the gate.

Their plan fails when he tries to shoot the Earth-X Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne) but fails. Even through all that, Oliver takes out the Nazis but the switch to the gate is broken. They have to find another switch to activate the gate.

Meanwhile, Winn changes his mind and sends out his weapon – which is actually the Red Tornado – to destroy the gate. Barry and Ray decide to go and stop it.

The rest of the team are trying to take out the Nazis so they can get through the gate without a problem. Jax and Martin Stein (Victor Garber) decide they need to separate so they can activate the gate. With the heroes taking care of the Nazis, Martin decides to make a run for the switch.

At the end of the episode Martin is shot and collapses to the floor. Leaving a cliffhanger for the audience.

Will they get back to Earth-1? Is Martin going to be okay? Will Kara be saved in time?

The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8pm on The CW.
