Fear the Walking Dead is continuing down the road of using two different timelines to tell their story. In the latest episode, ‘The Wrong Side of Where You Are Now’ written by Melissa Scrivner Love and directed by Sarah Boyd, we watch what happens after John gets shot in the Now timeline and see more of what happened at the stadium in the Before timeline.
Blowin’ Sh*t Up | The episode picks up where the previous left off, right after John (Garret Dillahunt) gets shot. Naomi (Jenna Elfman) is doing all she can to save him, but she needs medical supplies. She leaves John to Morgan (Lennie James) but promises she’s coming back. Too bad there’s nowhere for her to go while Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey), Luciana (Danay Garcia), and Strand (Colman Domingo) battle Mel (Kevin Zegers) and his crew in a crazy shootout. The shootout ends when Alicia blows up the ambulance Mel and some of his guys are trying to escape in. Then Alicia kills
Charlie happens to be there, and Luciana is the first to come upon her. Before she can shoot the girl that killed Nick (Frank Dillane), she turns and kills someone coming up behind her, giving Charlie a chance to escape.
Morgan asks Al (Maggie Grace) to help, but she doesn’t want to get involved, she just wants to capture it all on film from afar. But somehow Morgan convinces Althea to help, and they grab John plus a reluctant Charlie, and get out of there. They decide they need to go to the stadium for the supplies Naomi needs to help John.

Alicia, Luciana, and Strand find a truck with keys in it, but before they take off Alicia kills Mel, who survived the explosion but was severely injured.
When Morgan, John, Al, and Charlie arrive at the stadium, all they’re greeted with is a hoard of infected.
Charlie Needs Help | In the past, we see the crew thriving at the stadium. Crops are growing, security is heavyish, and the whole group is together. Suddenly, Charlie arrives begging them for help. Mel got into a car accident and is trapped and injured. They are all understandably suspicious of Charlie’s real motives, but Madison (Kim Dickens) insists they help.
When Mel wakes up, he’s handcuffed to a bed but alive. He tells Madison him and his people aren’t who they need to fear. When Madison doesn’t listen he tries Naomi. He tells her he’s trying to warn Madison that they’re all going to die trying to defend the stadium, so he offers Naomi a place in his group. Naomi approaches Madison about leaving, but Madison wants to hear nothing of it. She later sends Mel on his way, but doesn’t let him take Charlie.
Alicia and Nick tell Charlie that they sent Mel away, but they but a radio in the car and allow her to talk to him. He sounds very weak, his injury is worse than it seemed, and Charlie begs them to go help him. And the siblings oblige, getting out with Strand’s help.
They find Mel and get him out of the truck just as a convoy drives by, filled with Mel’s brother and buddies, heading towards the stadium. They radio Strand and let him know what’s coming.
Ennis (Evan Gamble) and his buddies arrive at the stadium before Nick and Alicia and let a herd of infected loose. Nick and Alicia become trapped, the last thing we hear in the episode is Alicia radioing her mother and apologizing, but saying they had to go out there and save him (Mel).
