“Fear the Walking Dead” Recap: Nick and Morgan’s Adventure
This week’s installment of AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead had quite a shocking ending with the murder of Nick, but lots of things occurred that led to that moment. ‘Good Out Here’ was written by Shintaro Shimosawa, and directed by Dan Liu. Here’s what went down!
Two Different Timelines | The episode is divided into two different timelines, one is the present with Al (Maggie Grace) and Garret (John Dorie), and one in the past at the baseball stadium. The two timelines come together in a way that makes sense when you’re watching, one filling in the gaps of the other when needed.
Past | The Vultures seem to be making life a bit difficult in the baseball diamond for the Clark family. Charlie (Alexa Nisenson) stole a radio from the Clark’s when she was with them, and the Vultures have been using it to spy on the Clark’s and beating them to every spot they look to raid. Nick (Frank Dillane) almost kills Ennis (Evan Gamble) in front of Charlie, he thinks the girl should be with them and not the Vultures, Madison (Kim Dickens) stops him.

Present | The SWAT truck gets driven off the road and stuck when the group fights over answering Al’s questions. Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey), Al, Strand (Colman Domingo), and Luciana (Danay Garcia) go off in search of something to pull the SWAT truck out, leaving Nick and Morgan (Lennie James) behind. The two bond in an odd way, end up tussling, and ultimately get the horn stuck, drawing in the infected. Nick and Morgan take off and end up in an abandoned town. In that town they run into Ennis, who seems quite surprised to see Nick. Morgan tries to talk him out of it, but Nick ends up killing Ennis with his hammer. Unfortunately for him, Ennis was not alone. Charlie was with him, and she did not like what she saw. She fired a shot at Nick, hitting him in the chest and killing him.
When Alicia et al returned to the SWAT truck they sent Alicia down to take out the infected and hook the truck up to tow it up. They agree to tell Al their stories if she promises to take them to where she found the flag. They follow Nick and Morgan’s clue and find the desolate town. They find Morgan in the street, but before they can round the corner to see Nick is when Charlie shot him. They round the corner just in time to see him fall over and bleed out.
