Devious Maids’ Roselyn Sanchez Talks Death

Devious Maids’ Carmen grieves over two deaths.

Carmen’s (Roselyn Sanchez) dream of becoming a big superstar was so close, she could almost touch it. Her chance of stardom, however, was foiled instantly when the man who promised her new a life under the spotlight was shot and killed in his Beverly Hills estate.

The man, Alejandro Rubio (Matt Cadeno), was the latest victim in a string of robberies a group of young men were targeting in the area. Not only did she lose a fiance — who she agreed to marry to mask Alejandro’s true identity of a gay man in exchange for fame — she had also lost someone she really admired and loved and along with that, her life-long dream of making it big.

“Alejandro’s death changes everything,” Roselyn says in a video released by Lifetime reflecting on the character’s death. “You’re so close to a dream and then something tragic like that happens and it’s back to zero.”

Watch the video below to hear more of what she had to say including more on her “crazy, irrational” character.

Devious Maids airs Sundays at 10pm on Lifetime.
