We finally understand why Opal (Joanna Adler) has been extremely loyal and protective of her late employer, Dahlia. During last night’s episode, Marisol (Ana Ortiz) and Carmen (Roselyn Sanchez) go through Opal’s things and pick their way through a locked drawer revealing that the house maid and the late Mrs. Deering had a secret affair!
In a video released by Lifetime reflecting on the latest episode, Joanna Adler talks about the affair.
“I think one of the wonderful things we learn about Opal is that she really loved Dahlia,” Adler says. “She’s kept this secret cache of love tokens and memories of her time with Dahlia.”
“Opal’s just not holding a private torch for for this dead woman,” she continues, “she’s fiercely dedicated to protecting Dahlia’s reputation and her legacy.”
