As Devious Maids nears the end of its sophomore season, the drama starts to ramp up. Carmen (Roselyn Sanchez) gets an unexpected visitor; Zoila (Judy Reyes) keeps a big secret; and Marisol (Ana Ortiz) searches for the truth. Let’s go through some of the events that transpired in the penultimate episode of the season, “Proof.”
ALL TIED UP | Carmen gets a surprise delivery when Tucker Westmore shows up at the door. Spence (Grant Show) is in rehab for alcohol abuse and Peri (Mariana Klaveno) fired her babysitter after she was arrested for shoplifting, so baby Tucker has been left in the non-maternal hands of Carmen. She hesitantly agrees to watch the baby — who she calls el diablo — after Peri’s assistant tells her that if Spence took Tucker for the time being, that she’s consider changing their custody arrangement. Carmen gets the chance to audition for a salsa commercial and when she’s unable to reschedule due to her current situation, she brings Tucker along, who she makes wear a harness and leash. When it’s her turn to audition, and with no one to watch Tucker in the waiting room, she does the only thing she can think of to keep him put: tie him around a pillow.
THE INBETWEENER | Zoila wakes up in bed and finds her husband right next to her. What did she do?! How will this affect her relationship with Javier (Ivan Hernandez)? Easy, she just won’t tell him! After getting a pep talk from her daughter Valentina (Edy Ganem), she goes over to Javier’s to tell him what happened, and when he confuses her secret with his plans to take her to Paris, a place Zoila mentioned she wanted to go while on their third date, she keeps her bed woes to herself.
BAND OF SISTERS | Rosie (Dania Ramirez) has had enough of Reggie’s (Reggie Austin) games and plans to release Kenneth (Willie Carpenter) from the nursing home and expose Reggie for all the devious things he’s done. But she doesn’t do this alone; she enlists the help of Reggie’s daughter Lucinda (Kimberly Gregory) and wife Didi (Tiffany Hines). The pair are at first unwilling to work together until they find out that Reggie is the reason for all the mess that’s been happening. They’re able to go through Reggie’s computer to take a look at all the mess he’s made over Kenneth’s estate via a forensic accountant and are able to use that evidence to turn him into the police. Justice!
CLUE | Marisol digs a little deeper (literally) to find out what exactly it was that Nick (Mark Deklin) did those many years ago. She goes through Opal’s things in her apartment, but comes up empty. When she returns Opal’s keys to her landlord, Marisol is given back a key that belonged to Opal with Beverly Pacific Bank stamped on it. Marisol plans to go to the bank and find what’s in the safe deposit box and asks Carmen for a little makeover to make her look like Opal. She goes to the bank and finds within the box a bloodied piece of clothing and a news clipping that reads: “Tragedy In Beverly Hills, Seven year old found dead after hit and run.”
