After Debris hit viewers with its first cliffhanger last week, how does “I Am Icarus” resolve it? Well, that’s complicated… As Bryan tries to get back to his reality, he makes an unlikely ally. Finola gets involved with the struggle in a strange way.
Let’s Try This Again… and Again and Again | With Bryan (Jonathan Tucker) trapped in another reality with Shelby (Keenan Tracy), he frees him and the two of them once again trigger the Debris, but when they do, Bryan ends up in a reality where instead of Shelby living by the lake, it’s his missing sister, Kathleen (Jessica McLeod). He briefs her on what’s going on and that George Jones (Tyrone Benskin) is the only one who can figure out how to get them back, but Kathleen triggers the Debris again, this time leaving Bryan behind.
She ends up in a reality with Finola (Riann Steele) and her new partner knocking on her door and she brings Finola up to speed. Finola calls George, who is working at Orbital with Maddox (Norbert Leo Butz), who tells Finola that Kathleen needs to accept that Shelby is gone or else the damage to reality could be catastrophic. Kathleen sees a portal to another reality bleeding through in the house, showing her Shelby and Bryan, which galvanizes her to trigger the Debris again.
What’s Wrong, Lassie? | In this reality, Kathleen finds a hole looking to Bryan and Shelby, who communicate with them via whiteboards. When Finola arrives, Kathleen shows her the hole and Bryan tells her to call George, but in this reality, George is dead. Kathleen convinces Finola to jump back with her to buy some time and Finola ends up in a reality where George is alive.
After talking to George and Kathleen, Finola realizes that the reason they’ve been separated is because they’ve been trying to jump realities separate from each other. If they all jump at the exact same time, that could fix everything. Finola and Bryan synchronize watches via the hole in realities and prepare to jump with Shelby and Kathleen all at the same time.
This sends everyone back to the correct reality, but for some reason, only the reunited Shelby and Kathleen remember the past jumps and tell Bryan and Finola where the Debris is. In this reality, Maddox comes home to find Julia’s signed divorce papers and Ash (Scroobius Pip) has memorized the punch code to the doors to his cell.
