If you’re still reeling from last week’s double episode premiere of Daredevil: Born Again hold onto your hats because we’re only getting started! This week’s episode, “The Hollow of His Hand,” puts Matt back in the courtroom for the trial of Hector Ayala, which takes an interesting turn…

Will Justice Prevail? | Matt (Charlie Cox) visits Hector (Kamar de Los Reyes) in his prison cell to prepare for his trial and promises that Hector will be a free man when all is said and done, while at an abandoned factory, two truck drivers arrive to meet a Scottish fella who executes them both in their truck. The next morning, Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) and Vanessa (Ayelet Zurer) are having breakfast when Fisk is informed of the murders and asks his aide to inform Chief Gallo of the situation. Vanessa brings up the point that whoever is responsible will soon come after Fisk, but he doesn’t seem concerned.

Under Oath | Matt is confronted in the courthouse bathroom by Officer Powell, one of the cops who attacked Matt, but Matt refuses to be intimidated. During the trial, Powell lies on the stand and says that he asked Hector to stop on the train platform, which Matt obviously hears. Matt brings up Nicky Torres, the witness who he plans on bringing to the stand, but Powell lies again and says he doesn’t know who Torres is.

Speaking of whom, Cherry (Clark Johnson) is bringing Torres to the courthouse, but he is followed by a cop on a motorbike, but fortunately, Torres wasn’t in his van, but in a taxi. Torres arrives to the courthouse on time and takes the stand, telling the court that he agreed to be an informant for the police in exchange for clemency for drug dealing, but when Matt asks if he was on the subway platform, Torres lies and says he wasn’t even there.

Vanessa arranges for someone to pay one of the hijackers of the truck $1.8 million as restitution, but when Fisk finds out about it, he gets upset that she went behind his back, but she counters that he’s punishing her for Adam, which Fisk denies. In court, Hector takes the stand and tells his side of the story, but Matt surprises the court by revealing that Hector is the White Tiger. Matt gets reprimanded by the judge after he made the prosecution promise not to bring up the information, but it’s already out in the open. Hector is mad at Matt for outing him as it were and to make matters worse, Matt tells Hector that if he’s acquitted, he can never be White Tiger again.

The Rule of Law | Fortunately, this works in Hector’s favor, as Matt calls numerous witnesses whose lives were saved by White Tiger, who testify in his defense. But the prosecutor, Hochberg (John Benjamin Hickey) fires back and says that real heroes don’t wear masks, which clearly affects Matt. When the jury reaches their verdict, they find Hector not guilty on all charges, much to Matt and Hector’s relief.

As Fisk watches the whole thing on TV, he asks Blake (Michael Gandolfini) to call BB Urich (Genneya Walton) again so he can talk to her. When Fisk speaks to her, he calls Hector’s verdict a miscarriage of justice and that vigilantes aren’t heroes. Hector dons the White Tiger suit again, but as he walks the streets, he is executed by a man dressed as the Punisher.
