It’s a good day for CW fans, as network boss Mark Pedowitz on Friday morning announced renewals for staples Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries and nine of its other scripted series.
DC Superhero shows Arrow, The Flash, as well as freshman series DC’s Legends of Tomorrow all return along with Vampire Diaries‘ ofshoot The Originals.
Finally, post-apocalyptic hit drama The 100 received a renewal along with period drama Reign, and comedies iZombie, critical darlings Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
“The CW has become home to some of the most critically-acclaimed shows on broadcast television, with a wide array of fantastic scripted series across the week, ranging from musical comedy, to superhero action, to gritty sci-fi dramas,” Pedowitz said in a statement.
“As we continue to further our strategy of more year-round original programming, picking up these 11 series for the 2016-2017 season puts us in a great position of having proven, high-quality shows to launch in the fall as well as midseason and summer of 2017.”
America’s Next Top Model ended its last cycle on The CW in December, while Beauty and the Beast‘s fourth and final season is set to premiere on Thursday, June 2.
