“The Originals” Preview Upcoming Time Jump & Hayley’s New Hope

The CW’s The Originals took on the Indigo Ballroom at the San Diego Comic-Con, this past Saturday.

Stars Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, Phoebe Tonkin, Charles Michael Davis, Yusuf Gatewood and Riley Voelkel, along with Executive Producer Michael Narducci revealed some secrets from The Vampire Diaries‘ spin-off’s upcoming fourth season.

The biggest kernel of information from the panel was that when the show returns for season 4, there will be a five year time jump. Not only that, but Hope will have grown into a seven year old and will play a bigger role on the show.

“We’ve talked about how the Mikaelsons reacted to their own parents and now we’ll get to see how Klaus and Hayley will react to their own child, who after our time jump is now seven years old,” said Narducci.  And so, Hope is going to be a big, fully fledged part of our season.”

Phoebe Tonkin also revealed that the actress playing seven year old Hope has been cast.

“We’ve cast the girl already and I read with her, and she’s so gorgeous. She’s exactly what I imagined Hope would be. She has to be this mystical, magical, little adorable thing that is just worth everything.”

“I’m really excited to have a relationship with her and not just a baby,” she continues, “and actually have conversations with her and see how much she knows about magic and does she have to go to magic school and what does she learn about being a witch. So, that’s going to be really fun.”

The Originals returns midseason on The CW.
