“This camp is your worst nightmare.”
This summer, The CW will take its viewers to summer camp with its all-new reality competition series. There is one killer twist, however, that sets Killer Camp apart from the others. Instead of contestants being voted off the show one by one, each night a camper is “murdered.”
It’s a fun twist for the 11 British strangers who at first think they’re participating in a fun new reality show. They’ll quickly learn that they’re in a horror whodunnit and in order to survive the game, they must avoid the killer and uncover his or her identity. Best twist of all: the secret murderer is amongst them!
The object of the game is to earn cash while avoiding being killed and therefore eliminated from the game. The murderer will bump off their fellow campers in ever more extreme, hilarious and inventive ways; it’s the job of the innocents to work out who is responsible before it’s too late…
The killer will eliminate an innocent every night, assisted by the evil camp handyman “Bruce,” who actually executes the bloody hilarious death scenes. Comedian Bobby Mair takes on presenting duties as Camp Counselor.
Killer Camp brings back the type of genre in reality competition shows that we love. We here at PopWire were obsessed with the Anderson Cooper-hosted “The Mole,” where players would complete tasks together while trying to find a saboteur among them. Even the more recent one-and-done “Whodunnit” from CSI franchise creator Anthony E. Zuiker had us glued to our screens in suspense as contestants worked together in groups to find out who in their house is a cold-blooded killer.
Check out the trailer for the new series below and let us know if you’ll be tuning in!
Killer Camp premieres Thursday, July 16 at 8pm on The CW.
