When The CW’s iZombie returns for its second season this Tuesday, viewers will see that some time has passed since the events of last season’s finale. OMFGTV spoke with the cast and Executive Producer of the appetizing drama-comedy where they teased what’s to come when the show picks up three months later.
“We’ll find out more about the fallout of how we ended [the season], and how relationships have changed, and where Liv is at now after [her] life kind of blew up,” Executive Producer Diane Ruggiero-Wright says. In addition to more Max Rager, she adds that there will be “a lot of awesome, cool, dark things to come from Blaine [and] a lot of fun, different brains for Liv.”

“Blaine is going to be dealing with his newfound humanity,” explains his portrayer, David Anders. “Although he’s cured, there might be some side effects. It’s not a perfect cure.”
Not perfect is an understatement, considering the cure killed one of Ravi’s rats during his testing. “It worked to a certain degree,” says Rahul Kohli, “and that’s why he insisted why it wasn’t ready for human testing but [Liv] went ahead and [took] it anyway.”
“Ravi, he’s lost his cure,” Kohli continues. “There’s no more tainted Utopium. That’s going to play a lot in his search for that and experimentation is going to play a significant portion of his journey. He does have two new guinea pigs in Blaine and Major, and its TV so you know it’s not going to be cut and dry. I think there’s going to be a lot of twists and turns with that.”

Also in store are some interesting new brains Liv will get to dine on. “I’ve been told a couple of the brains that I get to eat so far. There’s some good stuff,” McIver reveals. “I got told to get my guitar back out, so I know that there’s a bit of musical stuff coming in the first few episodes. There’s all sorts. It should be a lot of fun.”
iZombie Season 2 premieres Tuesday, October 6 at 9pm on The CW.
