A new side of Blaine will be seen when iZombie premieres tonight on The CW. While he claims that his criminal past is behind him, he might even be more menacing than before.
Executive Producer Diane Ruggiero-Wright assures that there will be “a lot of awesome, cool, dark things to come from Blaine,” and we can’t wait to see what’s in store.
We spoke to Blaine’s portrayer, David Anders, earlier this year and he previewed a bit about the upcoming season and teased bits about his character’s new occupation.
Season 2 will see Blaine dealing with his newfound humanity, and Anders says from being a villain to not being a zombie anymore is fun.
“We’re rounding all these characters out and we’re seeing every side of them possible,” he says. “If you can diversify within the same show, learn about Blaine’s daddy issues in season 2. That’s a victory, that’s a win.”
Will this new side of him show guilt about what he did in Season 1? Anders says that there may be some heart-to-hearts shared between Blaine and Liv, and we might even see the pair of them teaming up!
“So she’s going to have to get over her hatred and he’s going to have to do some apologizing and do some tactics to win her over.”
With Blaine’s booming brain business at the Meat Cute Charcuterie blown to bits and now that he’s cured, will he venture in a new occupation or will brains still be on the brain?
“He’s going to find a different vocation, but brains might still be a big part of it,” Anders reveals. “He might find his way into an old vocation. He can’t get out of the criminal element; it’s too ingrained in him. But of course I can’t tell you what it is!”
For those who have yet to get into this un-dead drama-comedy, Anders promises that “if you see it, you’ll love it. It’s the best zom-com-rom-dram in the history of television!”
iZombie Season 2 premieres tonight, October 6 at 9pm on The CW.
