The 2011 Teen Choice Awards took place on Sunday, August 7th, to an audience filled with teens and tweens and lots of A-List celebrities.
It came as no surprise that Vampires took over the award ceremony, both from the Twilight Saga and from CW’s The Vampire Diaries.
Sunday night The CW claimed a total of 9 Surfboards and boasted a winning more than any other network. But when you have programming targeted specifically to that demographic, it should be no surprise that the net beat out the peacock, the eye, the alphabet and the fox.
Nikita was nominated in four times in three categories. The show itself was nominated for Choice TV: Action, the beautiful Maggie Q and Lyndsy Fonseca, who portray Nikita and Alex, respectively, went head to head as both got nods for TV Choice Actress: Action, and rounding out the Nikita nominations was Shane West who was nominated for TV Choice Actor: Action.
Out of all four nominations it was Shane West who took home the Surfboard for his portrayal of Michael. We were positive the show would win in all three categories. Do teens even watch NCIS: Los Angeles?
Also in Shane West’s category were LOST alum Daniel Day Kim for CBS’ Hawaii Five-0 and and Zachary Levi of NBC’s Chuck.
Recently The CW started releasing brand new promos to congratulate its winners including Gossip Girl’s Blake Lively, and The Vampire Diaries for their 5 wins. Included in the promos is a video for Shane West which you can view below.
The short 10-second video includes never before seen footage from the show’s second season which premieres on its new night and time on Friday, September 23rd, at 8|7c on The CW.
On Twitter? If so, be sure to follow Shane West @ShaneWest_1.
