“Cloak & Dagger” Season Premiere Part 2 Recap: Let There Be Mayhem

In part two of “Cloak & Dagger’s” season two premiere, “White Lines,” the episode adopts a tryptic format to present the same day from three different perspectives. As Tandy tries to get through to Mikayla, Ty reunites with Evita, which doesn’t go as he planned. O’Reilly’s strange behavior is finally explained in a surprising way.

Chapter One: Tandy | Picking up where we left off, Tandy and Ty are met by O’Reilly in the club’s back room, where Ty spots a mysterious symbol written on the floor in cocaine. O’Reilly orders them to leave after discovering that the tape recorder Ty planted doesn’t have enough evidence to implicate anyone. Tandy returns to the support group and tries to convince Mikayla to leave Jeremy, but she won’t listen. Tandy goes to the support group’s organizer, Andre, to get info about Mikayla and he shows her a community of African Americans who are mourning missing people that no one seems to be looking for.

Chapter Two: Tyrone | On Ty’s end, he goes to see Evita’s aunt to find out what the symbol means and she tells him that it represents justice. At that moment, Evita walks in and in the only weak spot of the episode, is angry at Ty for not checking in on her to the point that she refuses to even hear him out, despite the fact that Ty was wanted for murder and if he talked to her, she’d be in serious danger, not to mention potentially arrested. And Evita’s the one that’s angry he didn’t call??? I think Ty’s kind of off the hook here!

Ty tries to teleport again and ends up in the back of an ambulance where none other than Mikayla is tied up. He is forced to teleport away to avoid getting shot by the kidnappers, but later, while trying to make up with Evita, teleports both of them to the hospital where Mikayla is admitted for an “overdose.”

Chapter Three: It All Comes Together | As O’Reilly is unusually ripping up pricey paintings to get a location from the wife of a drug runner, Tandy goes to the hospital to see Mikayla and when she touches her, she sees a clue in Mikayla’s memories. Following the clue, she meets O’Reilly at a shipping yard and the two of them spot a guy trying to escape in an ambulance. Tandy uses her powers to create a ball of light, causing the ambulance driver to crash from being blinded.

As O’Reilly interrogates the driver, Ty goes to her apartment to apologize- and in one of the biggest surprises in Marvel history, finds O’Reilly bound and gagged on the floor. Ty teleports her to the shipping yard and meets Tandy, who is shocked to see O’Reilly there and they race back to the ambulance to find- hold on to your seat for this one- another O’Reilly killing the driver! Bet you didn’t expect that!
