After a solid first four episodes, “Cloak & Dagger” takes a notable downgrade in quality this week in “Princeton Offense,” an episode that raises more questions than answers. While Tyrone prepares for his school’s basketball championship, Tandy intends to get to the bottom of Roxxon’s dirty deeds by infiltrating a gala.
Good News | Almost instantly, this episode pulls a fast one: O’Reilly is seen having sex with some random cop in the back of her car! Does everyone on this show have a dark secret? Tyrone meets her at the station to talk about Connors, but O’Reilly tells him that vice cops are essentially erased from police record. Tyrone returns to school, where Tandy meets him and prints out profiles of Roxxon employees who are attending an upcoming gala. She also breaks into a random girl’s locker and steals her school uniform. Why? Get this:

Paving the Way | Tandy dresses in the stolen clothes and walks into a private escort company and gets hired to attend the Roxxon gala in mere seconds. First of all, there are easier ways to get into a gala than get into sketchy businesses. Secondly, no job interview ends in a hiring that quickly. All they asked Tandy was how many Instagram followers she has! Because that’s the most important thing!
Tandy is snooping around the gala, while Tyrone is playing in the championship basketball game for his school. Of course, Tyrone ends up teleporting to the gala and thinks it’s because Tandy was overusing her powers. Tandy gets Tyrone back to the game by throwing him off the balcony before she runs into Mena, a Roxxon biologist. Remember this chick.
Paying the Fine | Tandy sees a photo of Peter Scarborough, a Roxxon bigwig who was responsible for seizing all of Tandy’s father’s assets. She pretends to break down her car near his house and when she touches him, she sees him stealing money off of dead bodies in the water and gets a name from one body in particular. That name turns out to be Tandy’s father’s old business partner- and Mena’s father.
Meanwhile, the basketball final comes down to Tyrone and he goes for the game winning shot- and misses it! Which honestly doesn’t have much point other than to make Tyrone’s life miserable. But not that miserable, as Evita breaks into his bedroom through the window- warning sign #1- says “I know what you are”- warning sign #2- and sleeps with him. Um, this girl is weird. After she leaves, Tyrone teleports to Connors again, but this time, Connors is talking to Wayne, a childhood friend of Tyrone’s who is helping Connors smuggle cocaine.
