“Cloak & Dagger” does what it does best in its third episode, “Stained Glass”- focus on character and ask deep questions in the process. As Tandy deals with the aftermath of her assault in the alley, Tyrone goes on a spiritual journey with Evita, leading to a personal revelation for both Tyrone and Tandy.
Don’t Take This the Wrong Way | Picking up from the cliffhanger of episode 2, Tandy survives the car crash and sees Tyrone with a gun in the street. Awkward! He denies that he was trying to shoot her, but Tandy simply drives off and leaves him there, refusing to even treat her injuries.

Meanwhile, O’Reilly interviews the rich jerk who tried to rape Tandy who denies that anyone else was there in the alley with him after O’Reilly asks about the fingernail scratches on his face. O’Reilly goes to Melissa Bowen’s house to talk to Tandy, but Melissa covers for her daughter as Tandy scrams out the back door.
New Orleans Voodoo | Evita invites Tyrone to a New Orleans tour that she is guiding and brings Tyrone to a voodoo shop that her grandmother operates. They suggest Tyrone does a cleansing bath to clean himself of the vengeful feelings he has against Connors. Tyrone does exactly that, as Tandy gets on a bus to leave town. Both of them end up in separate visions: Tandy sees a young Tyrone playing basketball with Billy, and Tyrone sees Tandy doing ballet on a rooftop.
The Definition of Madness | Tandy gets a different vision of a grown Tyrone constantly committing suicide in different ways as his parents encourage him to do so. Tandy screams at Tyrone that he needs to stop punishing himself and he seems to listen to her. Tyrone sees a young Tandy witnessing her father being tortured by his coworkers and tells her to stop running from her problems and actually do something about them. Both of them wake up in their respective locations shaken from the experience. Tandy gets off the bus and tells O’Reilly about what happened in the alley, clearing her name. Tyrone kisses Evita as they walk home and sees the abandoned church where Tandy lives. He enters and tells her, “I think we need to talk.”
