The peculiarly titled second episode of “Agents of SHIELD’s” final season, “Know Your Onions,” adds plenty of intrigue, action and a major Marvel connection to the formula. Daisy and Coulson disagree on what to do with their recent discovery, while Deke and Mack must keep Freddie safe from harm. Simmons makes a game changing discovery about their mission, while May has a rude awakening.
Fire in the Hole | Picking up where last week left off, Mack and Deke stick with Freddie Malick as he hides the vial stamped with a HYDRA insignia inside a bottle of whiskey. Freddie tries to ditch the pair, but they insist on accompanying him on a train to the docks to make the exchange.
As Simmons and Yo-Yo arrive at Koenig’s bar to help Coulson and Daisy interrogate the lady in red, Chronicops arrive at the bar and Koenig hides the crew in a hidden room while he keeps them busy. A wine bottle gets knocked over in the room, but Yo-Yo is unable to catch it before it hits the ground, giving them away. Fortunately, the cops get called away to another location, saving their skins.

Far From Home | Simmons finds a drop of liquid on the red dress woman’s shoe and discovers that it is a key ingredient to the super soldier serum that created Captain America. If Freddie doesn’t deliver it to HYDRA, Red Skull won’t be created and thus neither will Cap. The lady in red gives up the location of the docks, but only Koenig knows how to get there in time and he wants to come with them.
Back on the Zephyr, May wakes up from her healing pod and is not quite herself, demanding to meet the rest of the team and getting into a brawl with Enoch when he refuses. The rest of the team arrives and May isn’t even phased to see Coulson alive again. As Enoch puts her back into the pod, Coulson shows Koenig the Zephyr and tells him that their from the future.
Take the Shot | Freddie pulls a gun on Deke and Mack when they look through his bottles, but Deke takes it from him as they arrive at the docks. Onboard the Zephyr, a countdown clock appears and Simmons informs the team that the Zephyr will jump to an unknown period in history when the clock hits zeroes- with or without them. Daisy talks to Deke over walkie talkie and orders him to shoot Freddie, but Deke is unable to do so.
The Chronicops arrive and a shootout occurs, but Freddie takes the vial and tries to escape. Koenig tries to talk him down, but Freddie shoots him and escapes in a black car with the vial. Koenig survives, but the team is forced to leave Enoch behind in the 30s when he is unable to make it back to the Zephyr in time. The good news is that he and Koenig form a friendship and Koenig has questions about robots…
