5 Reasons to Watch Secret Circle

If you’re still undecided about catching The Secret Circle when it premieres this fall on The CW, WetPaint has a list of 5 reasons why you should be tuning in.

1. Britt Robertson is back on The CW! Life Unexpected’s Lux stars as Cassie. Britt even spills that the characters aren’t too different. “It’s nice to not be like, ‘Oh, well I’m a completely different person now!’” she told zap2it.com. “So it won’t exactly throw people off […] but it’s totally different. It’s very supernatural and exciting.”

2. It’s like The Vampire Diaries’ little sister. Not only is The Secret Circle produced by TVD’s Kevin Williamson, it’s also based on a book series by The Vampire Diaries author, L. J. Smith. Though there’s not a vampire in sight (at least, not yet), The Secret Circle offers similar dark scenery, spooky music, and yummy eye candy.

3. Your fierce new girl crush, Phoebe Tonkin. The Australian stunner makes her American TV debut as mean girl Faye Chamberlain (a soap opera vixen name if we’ve ever heard one). Phoebe owns every scene she’s in, and you won’t be able to take your eyes off her.

4. It’s got something for grownups, too. While The Vampire Diaries can’t seem to keep adults around for long (RIP, Jenna), The Secret Circle has a stellar cast playing the mysterious parents of Chance Harbor. Gale Harold is super creepy Charles, and Natasha Henstridge plays school principal (and Faye’s mom), Dawn.

5. It promises to be crazy-exciting. The Secret Circle starts with a bang — literally. Before the creepy opening credits roll, 16-year-old Cassie sees her picture-perfect life go up in flames when her mother dies in a tragic fire, which may or may not have been an accident. Cassie is sent to live with her grandmother in eternally gloomy Chance Harbor, Washington. As Cassie settles into her new life, she gets entangled with a group of students who happen to be witches. Turns out Cassie, who’s a witch and didn’t even know it, completes their Secret Circle. But there are no Sabrina shenanigans here. Cassie and her friends’ powers may be darker than they seem.
