Chandra West will be joining The Secret Circle, Populr has learned.
West was last seen on television in the shows Burn Notice, Private Practice, and most notably on last summer’s short-lived supernatural drama, The Gates.
Those who are familiar with The Gates, a show about witches, vampires and werewolves in the suburbs, know it was from creator Richard Hatem who was also on board for The Secret Circle until recently when news broke that he left for creative differences.

On the ABC show West played the beautiful yet evil witch Devon who ran a shop where she also brewed special teas and potions. She will no doubt fit right in on The Secret Circle which premieres Thursday, September 15th, on The CW.
Not much is known about the character she will be playing as well as how long she will be in the show. We’re hoping she’s cast as a rival to Natasha Henstridge’s Dawn Chamberlain.
West is not the first cast member of ABC’s The Gates to move on to another supernatural show. Colton Haynes is now on MTV’s hit reboot Teen Wolf, the lovely and beautiful Janina Gavankar shapeshifts on True Blood, and Skyler Samuels gets catty on ABC Family’s The Nine Lives of Chloe King.
*UPDATE*
Chandra West’s involvement with the show may not happen as soon as we’d hoped. We recently spoke to Executive Producer Andrew Miller and gave us an update on the news. “There are no immediate plans,” he tells Populr, “but we love her and would love to get her involved.”
Rowell was born and raised on Maui, Hawai’i, and now lives in the almost-as-green Pacific Northwest. He’s obsessed with Cirque du Soleil, loves teen dramas (especially those with a supernatural element) and horror movies, and is addicted to sushi. Prior to PopWire, he created individual fan sites for the shows Friends, Hellcats, Nikita and others, which led to creating and working on OMFGTV.
