SYFY’s Un-Canceled “SurrealEstate” Begins Production on Second Season

Premieres 2023 on SYFY

syfy-surrealestate-season-2-renewal-uncancelled

Great News: Fans of SYFY’s SurrealEstate will be excited to know that production has begun on the paranormal drama for its sophomore season set to debut sometime next year.

News of SurrealEstate‘s cancellation came in October ’21, when series creator and showruner George R. Olson shared the news on social media. “Hey folks. Sorry to tell you that we will not be moving forward with Syfy on Season Two of #SurrealEstate,” Olson Tweeted. “But we have no intention of leaving Luke alone in a bowling alley when his mom is out there somewhere and mortgage rates are so reasonable.”

SYFY reversed its decision in early May, renewing the series for a second season. The cast and creators of SurrealEstatae celebrated the recent start of the new season by posting photos and a video from its St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador filming location, which you can check out below.

SurrealEstate follows real estate agent Luke Roman and an elite team of specialists that handle the cases no one else can: haunted and possessed houses that literally scare would-be buyers away. Researching, investigating and “fixing” the things that go bump in the night, the team works to create closure – and closings – even as they struggle with demons of their own.

In the heartbreaking Season 1 finale of SurrealEstate, Luke Roman discovered that the hateful woman in the Donovan House was actually his sister and not his mother. After she was banished into the portal in the basement, Luke lost his ability to communicate with the dead, meaning he no longer is able to connect with his late father.

The series stars Tim Rozon as Luke Roman, Sarah Levy as Susan Ireland, Savannah Basley as Zooey L’Enfant, Tennille Read as Megan Donovan, Maurice Dean Wint as August Ripley, and Adam Korson as Father Phil Orley.

A premiere date for Season 2 of SurrealEstate hasn’t been set yet, but we’re predicting a summer or fall release. Here’s hoping the show is able to make it to SDCC next year!
