What’s up Switches, Motherland: Fort Salem hit us with another crazy episode! We got Alder finally being able to enjoy food and drink, insight into the First Song, more Marshals, and Hearst completely losing it! ‘Oh Elayne…’ was written by Eli Edelson and directed by Jem Garrard.
Two Rivers Roadhouse | The episode picks up right where the last left off, with our group looking for Khalida (Kylee Brown). They decide to split up, with Tally (Jessica Sutton), Abigail (Ashley Nicole Williams), and Adil (Tony Giroux) going to look for Khalida while Scylla (Amalia Holm), and Nicte (Kandyse McClure) lead the Marshals another direction in the cession and try to lose them.
The three looking for Khalida use salva to get down the cliff they’re atop, and Tally uses her Sight to look for Khalida. Tally is nervous to use her work after Nicte’s warning, but with Abigail’s pushing she does, and sees Adil’s sister at a place called the Two Rivers Roadhouse. She tells the others and they go there. Inside they are quickly reunited with Khalida, who leads them over to Alder (Lyne Renée). Everyone is shocked she’s alive, and really enjoying some drinks and nachos. The performer, Elayne (Beverly Elliott), begins to sing and suddenly everyone in the building is very euphoric and dancing. Tally and Abigail have got some moves! Once the song ends they all realize the song was some sort of work. Alder and Khalida recognize it as being a piece of the First Song, of which they are both stewards of a piece. Tally and Alder confront Elayne, who denies knowing what they’re talking about, so they break into her trailer. They find that Elayne is a seed thief and collector. She has hundreds of vessels filled with stolen seeds. Tally uses her Sight to find the seed they’re looking for and takes it. Upon leaving the trailer, Tally and the rest of the group gets captured by Marshals. And someone kills Elayne.
Scylla and Nicte find an abandoned barn that they decide to hide in. Scylla tries to summon a Death Cap to communicate with Raelle, but it doesn’t work. It actually leads the Marshals in their direction, and they realize they’re being tracked by their voices. Scylla uses crows to carry her voice off in another direction to throw the Marshals off, and it seems to work. At least until Scylla and Nicte begin fighting and lead the Marshals directly to them. They get captured as well.
The group is reunited in a mansion by the Marshal (Michael Horse), with no idea why they’re there and no way to leave.

Unhinged | Hearst (Bob Frazer) has a meeting with Brandt (Emilie Ullerup), and she gives off some big Boss vibes. He becomes completely unhinged afterwards, and goes into the lab to become as much like a witch as he can. He wants their vocal cords in his body.
The President | Anacostia (Demetria McKinney) and Izadora (Emilie Leclerc) update President Wade (Sheryl Lee Ralph) on what’s going on with her Vice President. Wade decides she needs to address this immediately with the public and prepares to make a speech that evening exposing him. The military is aware that this will make Wade an even bigger target so they put extra security around her. Unfortunately it is not enough. M (Ess Hödlmoser) realizes too late that there’s been a breach and that the camera crew is Camarilla and Anacostia and Sterling (Luc Roderique) are unreachable. Then there’s a giant explosion that looks a lot like a Witchbomb, but somehow distorted. President Wade appears to be dead, and we don’t know the fate of the others.
