It’s been a tumultuous first season for the students and faculty at Pine Academy on SYFY’s Astrid & Lilly Save the World. The supernatural comedy series comes to a close this week and viewers are in for one hell of a twisty ending.

PopWire recently reconnected with Filipino-Canadian artist Jana Morrison where they briefly teased what’s to come in the Season Finale, titled “Guts,” written by Noelle Stehman & Betsy Van Stone and directed by Jordan Canning.

In Astrid & Lilly Save the World‘s penultimate episode of its inaugural season, “Doppelkopfel,” it appears that Christine’s (Geri Hall) most critical recruit for her “youth group,” Sparrow (Spencer Macpherson), is in deep with his new-found loyalty to The Guardian.

“He’s not necessarily on my side,” Morrison teases of where Astrid’s boyfriend stands. Though photos of the finale feature the pairing of Astrid & Sparrow (“Astrow“) together, it is hard to discern whether or not he’s still aligned and tethered to the series’ big bad.

Aside from Sparrow, Astrid and her BFF Lilly (Samantha Aucoin) make a grand entrance at Pine Academy’s prom. The two, however, have quite a lot on their plate, so their participation in the festivities is very minimal.

“I can say the girls are pretty busy,” Morrison shares, “so they won’t have too much time to enjoy much of the dance. But they get to enjoy it also in a really nice way.”

So, what keeps them busy at the dance? We won’t say what goes down exactly, but we will reveal that what happens leads to inescapable and deadly consequences. That’s right. Someone. Will. Die.

“We’ll see if Astrid and Lilly can use what they’ve learned from their new monster-slayer role to stop the biggest bad and *ACTUALLY* save the world,” the Vancouver multi-disciplinary artist previews.

However, their best efforts are not enough to prevent major bloodshed, as Jana Morrison leaves us with this one, all-important nugget of info about who doesn’t make it out alive: “No one is safe.”
