Today is an exciting day for Marvel fans, because Disney+ has finally dropped the first trailer and premiere date for their highly anticipated series Ms. Marvel, starring Iman Vellani as Muslim superheroine Kamala Khan.
The character has been a fan favorite and major influence in Marvel Comics since her debut in 2014 and now it’s her time to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in her Disney+ series before teaming up with Captain Marvel in “The Marvels” in 2023.

The trailer, seen below, showcases Vellani in high school as an Avengers fangirl, daydreaming about being a superhero, who gets her wish when she develops unusual powers. While her powers are certainly not what comic fans are used to, the series looks energetic and fun and Vellani seems tailor-made for the role.
Disney+ also announced that the series will debut on the streaming site on June 8.
