After the premiere wiped out all men in the world, Y: The Last Man has a lot to do in episode two, “Would the World Be Kind.” Namely, establishing the new world order and seeing what a world of women will do. Yorick struggles to survive after the gendercide, while Hero attempts to right some wrongs and President Brown is forced to make hard decisions.
The New Mission | Eight days after every man on the planet died, Agent 355 (Ashley Romans) finds a hidden room in a post office with her superior officers dead in their chairs. She finds an envelope with an address on it and returns to the Pentagon, where Jennifer (Diane Lane) has now been sworn in as the President of the United States and a riot of women have just overrun the White House.
355 tells Jennifer that she was part of a covert op that reported only to the previous President and now she reports only to her. Meanwhile, Hero (Olivia Thirlby) is holed up with a group of transgender men who survived, including Sam (Elliot Fletcher), as 355 joins a military evacuation group heading to New York under orders to find Hero.
No Future | The former President’s daughter, Kimberly (Amber Tamblyn) asks Jennifer to retrieve the reaming sperm from all sperm banks in the city, but Jennifer is more concerned with finding Hero. Yorick (Ben Schnetzer) loses Ampersand in a flooded subway station and nearly gets killed by a group of Chinese women in the laundromat he tries to raid. They want to trade him for something, but he convinces them to let him go.
Hero returns to the ambulance where she accidentally killed her boyfriend and grabs his ID and delivers it to his wife, who is actually happy that her husband didn’t die alone. Hero returns to find Sam alone with a limited supply of testosterone shots after his trans friends left him and he demands that she take him to shelter at the Pentagon.
The Last Man | Jennifer gets a visit from Marla, the former First Lady, who wants to bury her son and says she’ll do it with or without her approval. Nora (Marin Ireland) tries to get into the Pentagon with her daughter, but is denied access. Yorick breaks into Hero’s apartment looking for her, but the place is empty. 355 storms in looking for Hero and finds Yorick instead and flies him to see Jennifer, who is relieved to see him. The helicopter pilots are stunned to see Yorick and 355 orders them to come with her.
Y: The Last Man is now streaming on Hulu.
