Beauty and the Beast EPs Talk Tess’ Exploration

When Beauty and the Beast returns this fall, not only will Catherine be without Vincent because of his capture during last season’s finale, but Tess will be alone as well after going through a breakup with Joe.

beauty-and-the-beast-nina-lisandrelloOMFGtv sat down with Executive Producers Sherri Cooper and Jennifer Levin during the San Diego Comic-Con and ask them about the future of Tess’ love interests.

“We really wanted to take Tess and explore other aspects of Tess and get her out of that relationship [with Joe],” says Jennifer.

When we asked about whether or not her exploration would include Tess being with another woman (because that would be totally awesome), Sherri and Jennifer weren’t against the idea.

“We have talked about the fact that it’s weird that we don’t have any gay characters on the show,” Jennifer reveals, “which is ridiculous [because the show is set] in New York City.”

“You know we could,” Sherri adds. “We talked about ‘Who am I?’ I feel like [Tess] should totally rebel. We’re not saying no. She’s going to be dealing with the effects of what happens when it didn’t work out with Joe. We haven’t talked about it, but we’re totally open to it.”

Season Two of Beauty and the Beast premieres this fall on The CW.
