“Debris” Recap: Forever Young

Debris continues this week with “Supernova,” in which a group of teenagers find a piece of Debris and use it as part of a plan involving senior citizens. Bryan and Finola’s trust issues come to a head…

More Questions | As Bryan (Jonathan Tucker) and Finola (Riann Steele) are on their way to the next destination, Finola tells Bryan a story of her father visiting Greece before his death and sending her an email about what she should get him for his birthday. After Bryan leaves however, Finola gets a call from Ferris (Anjali Jay), who instructs her to tell him that George was in Cyprus as part of a ploy to find out what the Americans know about George.

The plane lands in Tennessee, where three skeletons radiating electrical energy are found in a barn and a few teenagers were seen leaving the scene according to an eyewitness report. All the bodies are identified as elderly missing persons, while Maddox (Norbert Leo Butz) interrogates Anson Ash (Scroobius Pip), who naturally reveals nothing to him.

Waiting to Die | Maddox once again meets with his sketchy Russian contact, who offers to exchange a piece of Debris to him, while in Tennessee, a group of teenagers with a piece of Debris of their own watch a woman struggling to walk and say that they “need more.” As Agent Gordon (Thomas Cadrot) finds a car with the possessions of the corpses they found in the trunk, Bryan gets a call from Maddox ordering him to find out more about George’s trip to Greece to see if Influx was tracking him before his death. But when Finola comes to Bryan, he confesses to her that he knows George is alive and that Maddox ordered him to get information on him, prompting a furious Finola to reveal that she knows as well before she storms off.

The teenagers convince an elderly man to come into the woods with them and tell him to hold onto the piece of Debris. Two of the kids run off and Bryan catches up to one of them and he reveals that he is one of the missing elderly people. The old man holding the Debris suddenly becomes a 20 year old, but he soon gets captured by Finola, while one of the others ages to 90 years old in seconds and dies. Bryan finds a walkie talkie and communicates with the last two teens, named Curt and Clara Cox, who inform him that if they stray far away from the Debris, they age again. If they don’t let the captive teens go, they’ll age to death. To make matters more complicated, Finola finds out that Clara was suffering from dementia before she got young.

Like Starlight | Curt insists that they found the Debris to save Clara and that trying to reverse the process will kill them all, as it did the bodies in the barn. As Bryan tries to track them down, Clara tells Curt that they have to give up the Debris and that the time they’ve had with each other is enough. Both of them leave the Debris in the woods and hold hands as they look over the moonlit woods, while Bryan’s team get the Debris and try to reverse the affected that are left. Maddox gets the piece of Debris from the Russians as Finola tells Bryan that they need to work together to find out what Ferris and Maddox know. Maddox gets a call from a tech agent who is tracking Ash’s phone calls and the calls point to a number in Maine.
