Dark Josie returns to fast track the Merge and kill Lizzie, forcing Hope’s hand to set a dangerous plan into motion. Rafael discovers a shocking secret, while the Necromancer aligns with Dark Josie.
Happy Merge Day | In all the chaos, no one mentioned that it’s Josie and Lizzie’s birthday until Dark Josie returns and holds the school under her control to accelerate the Merge between her and Lizzie to today. Hope and MG hatch a plan to save them, but it involves Lizzie beating Josie in the Merge so she can keep Good Josie locked away in her mind. Dark Josie insists that Lizzie show up to the Merge and snaps Alyssa’s neck, promising that she will be the first of many causalities if Lizzie bails.
Into the Ring | Meanwhile, Rafael finds a puddle of blood in the woods and he and Landon try to find out who was killed there. Rafael uses a magical platter to see who’s blood it is and is horrified by what he sees. As Dark Josie prepares the Merge with the Necromancer and Chad as backup, Lizzie realizes that she won’t survive the Merge and tries to run away, but MG convinces her to face her sister, who sets up a wrestling ring in the gym to fight Lizzie. This only becomes cool when Hope arrives and fights Dark Josie, almost getting Good Josie back, but Dark Josie almost impales Hope before Lizzie returns and saves her.
Saltzman Vs Saltzman | Lizzie kisses MG before heading into the ring to Merge with Dark Josie, while Rafael is contemplating drowning himself in the lake. When Landon asks what’s going on, Rafael reveals that he saw his own face on the platter and he remembers being murdered by the Necromancer, who resurrected him. Realizing that the Necromancer has him under his control, Rafael begs Landon to kill him.
It gets much, much worse.
Lizzie and Dark Josie Merge and Dark Josie comes out the other end and Lizzie dies. Alaric tearfully announces to the school that Lizzie is dead as Dark Josie and the Necromancer watch from the magical eyeball planted in the school. But then, Lizzie comes to as MG explains Hope’s plan: If Lizzie didn’t survive the Merge, Hope magically linked Lizzie’s life to Landon’s, keeping her alive when he resurrected. During that, Hope magically sent herself into Dark Josie’s mind to try to get Good Josie back. Alaric knew of the plan and only told everyone that Lizzie died to fool the Necromancer’s eyeball watching them. And just when we think everything’s fine, Rafael kills Landon with the Golden Arrow, under the Necromancer’s control.
