It’s with a heavy heart that we at OMFGTV must report that Freeform has cancelled Cloak & Dagger, one of the last remaining Marvel television shows on air right now. The show ran for two seasons on Freeform and starred Olivia Holt, Aubrey Joseph and Emma Lahana.
This news comes as quite a shock, seeing as the show was not only revolved around two powerhouse performers in Holt and Joseph, but was one of the best Marvel shows on TV. Here’s why we’ll miss Tandy and Tyrone’s adventures.

The Upcoming “Runaways” Crossover | Normally, a Marvel TV crossover is cause for celebration. That’s certainly the mindset of fans who’ve been begging for Tandy and Tyrone to meet our favorite “Runaways.”
Now, the upcoming crossover episodes for the two shows, set to hit Hulu on December 13, will sting, seeing as it’s the final time we’ll see the light/dark duo on our screens.
Olivia and Aubrey’s Chemistry | Even the most hardened Marvel hater was bowled over by Holt and Joseph in the show. They were the *Chef’s kiss* perfect choices for the iconic characters on their own, but their dynamite chemistry was what casting directors dream of. Add to that the fact that Olivia and Aubrey became friends in real life and the fact that the last episode of “Cloak & Dagger” seemed to hint that the duo would finally find love, and this is just a crushing blow.
We’ll Never Know What Happened with O’Reilly | Emma Lahana’s Detective Brigid O’Reilly went through a dramatic change in season two of “Cloak & Dagger,” being split into two versions of herself who seemed to merge into one in the season’s final episodes. At least, that’s our impression, cause the season ended without confirming what O’Reilly’s mindset was like. Now, we may never know.
What’s On the Chopping Block Next? | It’s a scary prospect, but with “Cloak & Dagger’s” demise, almost all of Marvel Television’s ventures, some successful, some “Inhumans,” are no longer on air. Netflix purged the “Defenders” universe, “Agents of SHIELD” is taking its curtain bow in 2020, and don’t forget about “Agent Carter” only lasting two season.
Now, “Runaways” is pretty much the only Marvel TV project with its fate still to be decided, but with Marvel seemingly committing to Disney+ and Head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb departing the company, Marvel’s TV slate is starting to look like the ending of “Avengers: Infinity War.”
