It’s “Runaways'” season finale, so it’s time for relationship drama, action, superpowered antics, and one hell of a cliffhanger in “Split Up.” Karolina learns more about Xavin, while Chase is forced to try to make peace with his former Runaways. Dale takes a stand against Stacey and Victor sets a sinister plan into motion.
Love at First Sight | First up in this bonkers finale, Xavin reveals her backstory to Karolina: She’s a runaway from a planet of shapeshifters and stowed away on Jonah’s ship. He kept her around as labor on the promise that she would eventually marry Karolina to unite their two species. After this, Xavin literally pops the question to Karolina five minutes after meeting her! To make matters worse, this is the moment Nico chooses to walk in! Awkward!

Let’s Make a Deal | As the group adjusts to Xavin, who is obsessed with dipping donuts in ketchup, Chase calls Alex to try to make peace with them. The six of them meet in the forest, where Chase unsuccessfully tries to convince them to join Pride.
When that doesn’t work, he reminds them that they have a serum that would wipe their memories as well as a lot of firepower. As if on cue, after Chase leaves, drones fly in to try to take the Runaways out.
They Call Me Baby Driver | The team splits up as they are chased by the drones and their parents, but before they do, Nico tells Karolina that she loves her and they share a kiss. In a thrilling action scene, Alex hijacks a car as his parents chase after him, Gert and Molly race through a market pursued by Dale and Stacey and Nico does battle with her parents, ending with the Staff taking control of Nico again, as her eyes go black like the bad guys from “Doctor Strange.” She knocks out Tina and Robert, but Robert gets broken glass in his neck.
Victor corners Karolina and reveals that he is actually Jonah possessing Victor’s body. He tries to get Karolina to come with him, but Xavin arrives to defend her. Meanwhile, Stacey knocks out Gert and orders Dale to take her, but he takes her and Old Lace off on a country drive away from Stacey, because of how strange she’s been acting lately. Alex is cornered by his parents in the street, but the cops arrive and arrest them because Alex has planted a gun in their car glovebox, connecting them to Darius’s murder.
Molly, Nico, Alex and Xavin regroup at the Hostel with Leslie. Xavin informs them that Victor/Jonah has taken Karolina, leaving Nico horrified. Jonah meets with Tina and Stacey, also possessed by Karolina’s murderous relatives, who wonder where her brother is, to which Stacey floats the possibility that he’s possessed one of the kids. The three of them then turn to the captive Karolina, Chase and Janet, the latter two having figured out that Jonah is in Victor, and plot what to do with them. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!
