“Legacies” plugs along and ups the stakes in “We’re Being Punked, Pedro.” While Hope, Josie and Lizzie face punishment for their recent actions, Alaric tries to defend the school from a mysterious threat. Landon and Rafael try to survive on their own with unexpected help.

Harmonious | Alaric sends Josie, Lizzie, MG and Kaleb to community service duty after the football game fiasco, and adds Hope to the list due to her black magic usage. While Alaric tries to destroy the knife to no avail- sticking it in acid didn’t even work- Lizzie gets “assaulted with milkshake” by Connor from Mystic Falls High and storms back to the school’s garden, where little Pedro alerts her to the moving gargoyle statue that follows them into the school and slashes Lizzie’s stomach, paralyzing her.
You Run, I Run | Landon and Rafael are running through the woods when Landon gets the bright idea to scam people by betting that Rafael can use his werewolf skills to ascend and descend a building at warp speed. After amassing a hoard of money, Landon spots a note scribbled on one bill that tells him to run. They then get knocked out, but are freed from their captors by Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), who informs them that they were targeted by werewolf hunters and he was instructed by Alaric to keep an eye on them. Rafael suggests to Landon that they go back to the school and face the music.
The Monster Squad | After making out with Lizzie’s rival, Dana, MG sees Kaleb drinking her blood, but he lets her go unharmed. Hope and Josie return to the school to find the gargoyle walking the halls, seemingly looking for the knife. The gargoyle spares Alaric after two encounters, but Hope and Josie team up to destroy it with a spell, which saves Lizzie’s life. Alaric tells Hope that he read a book that says the gargoyle was protecting the knife from evil forces, but vowed not to harm humans. As Alaric informs the school about the monsters they’ve faced over the last few days, Dana and her gal pal get attacked by something in the woods.
