Comic-Con: “Riverdale” Star Lili Reinhart on Vanessa Morgan’s Toni Topaz: Should Bughead Be Worried?
It was revealed earlier this summer that Vanessa Morgan (“The Shannara Chronicles,” “Finding Carter”) would be joining The CW’s hit series Riverdale as Toni Topaz.
Series showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa also revealed that the addition of Toni’s character to the show could put Betty & Jughead’s relationship in jeopardy.
Earlier this summer at the San Diego Comic-Con, OMFGTV sat down with the stars of Riverdale and got more information on who Toni Topaz is and what we can expect from her in the coming season.
“Toni is a Southside Serpent, she goes to Southside High with Jughead,” star Lili Reinhart tells us. “She’s a beautiful, young, talented girl. She’s very similar to Jughead.

The actress reveals that Betty does not think Toni poses a threat “because Betty is not petty” and is not thinking about that.
Reinhart adds that Betty has the confidence that the “Bughead” relationship is strong and that at least for now, nothing or no one can tear the apart.
“She trusts her man and she feels like there’s nothing to worry about,” she says. “But that may change.”
